Cold Hearts Dominate Week 1

Opening weekend of Overtime Select saw some of the highest quality basketball the league has ever seen but it was the Cold Hearts who stood out as the stars of the show. The Cold Hearts absolutely dominated the competition, winning their two games by an average of 14.5 PPG to become the first team to advance to Championship Weekend ⭐

The second team to advance to championship weekend was YGE, who advanced after an all-time thriller against Flau State in the Bubble Breaker. Flau State had a chance to win at the line but missed both free throws. YGE followed that possession up with free throws of their own and Jordyn Haywood cashed the second to advance YGE to their second semis ever 🙌

The Cold Hearts were dominant all weekend long but never more so than in their second game against Flau State, a game in which they led by 33 points in the second half. Jordyn Palmer was the star of the evening putting up an absurd stat line of 21 points and 17 rebounds to make her first ever Championship weekend. Number one player in the class of 2029, Kristen Winston, had her best OT Select showing to date, logging a nice line of 17 points, seven boards and three assists 🥶

The Cold Hearts first game of the weekend was yet another dominant showing, as they won 84-71 over Royal Reign. Morghan Reckley showed why she is a superstar in the making, scoring a game-high 22 points to go along with 11 rebounds and six assists. Palmer did her part in the win as well, notching her first career OT Select double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds 💪

YGE dropped their first game of the weekend to Flau State on Friday night but cooked all day Sunday to move on to Championship Weekend. YGE super star GG Banks was phenomenal all weekend, averaging 20.5 PPG and 9.0 APG and in the bubble breaker she scored or assisted on 11 of YGE’s 15 points to advance them to the semis. Jaylah King was a great secondary scoring punch for YGE, averaging 14.5 PPG which included knocking down five triples 🦌

Flau State came within literal inches of advancing to the Championship Weekend but ultimately came up just shy. Leah Dewitt showed out in the team’s win over YGE on Friday night, scoring a team-high 15 points while also generating four steals. On Saturday it was Chasity Rice who had the best performance against the Cold Hearts, scoring a game-high 25 points while also pulling down seven boards 👌

Royal Reign may have gone 0-2 but they put forth a great effort all weekend long and came up just short. Kamora Moore led the team in scoring across two games, posting an average of 16.5 PPG including a big time 22 points in the teams first game. In her final game after three years in the league, Miciah “MiMi” Fusilier had an outstanding weekend, posting averages of 11.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 3.0 SPG and 2.0 BPG 🪣
